Update-Newmilns Festival Weekend:

Update (July 27th 2021) -  Marquee events such as the Newmilns Festival Weekend would still be subject to many restrictions in this time of pandemic. Ideally we would now be starting to plan for the next festival and we had hoped to back on the first Bank Holiday weekend in May 2022, but with the ongoing uncertainties the group have been forced to take the decision to again postpone any event until 2023 at the earliest.

Update (July 2nd 2020) -  The Festival takes a year to plan, we normally go straight into it once we finish, but we had decided to move it out to May 2021, a decision we took prior to Coronovirus. Under the current situation we do not know when a Marquee based Festival, which had over 2500 visitors last September, will be free to be held again. We have therefore released our booking for May 2021 with our marquee company and instead hope to be back on the first Bank Holiday weekend in May 2022.

Update (January 2020) -

We have taken the decision as a group not to hold the Newmilns Festival Weekend this year, in order to focus on a new Community Action Plan (5 Year Plan 2020-2025) and concentrate on other regeneration activities within the town.

The good news is that we are hoping to hold it in May 2021 and have started making initial enquiries with our suppliers regarding availability, depending on obtaining adequate funding of course!

We realise this will come as a disappointment to many people, but The Festival Weekend takes months of planning for our small group of volunteers and we felt we needed to take a break this year to allow us to focus on other important items identified in the Community Action Plan.

We are always on the lookout for volunteers to help us with various different projects - if you are interested in joining us as a member, or just as a volunteer, please get in touch! The more help we get, the more projects we will get through to benefit the whole community.
